HOW TO USE
Apply roll-on to underarms before getting dressed.
Sally’s tip “Natural deodorants can take a bit longer to dry than industrial aluminium anti-perspirants; however, I never wait longer, I just apply my Effective Natural Deodorant and then start getting dressed leaving my top until last.”

Deodorant crystal |
Potassium alum |
One of Bath Spa Skincare's philosophies is to use the 'precautionary principle' i.e. if the safety profile of an ingredient is unclear we will not use it. As such we use potassium alum (natural deodorant crystal) in our deodorants and never use aluminium salts, such as aluminum chlorhydrate or aluminum zirconium, found in the majority of antipersirants. Aluminum chlorhydrate or aluminum zirconium are controversial because they are readily absorbed and can easily ionize to form free or radical aluminum (Al+++) which can pass across cell membranes. It is this concentration of aluminum that has been the source of concern in the medical community and has prompted the research being done on possible links to Alzheimer's disease and breast cancer. Potassium Alum does actually contain aluminium molecules but in a structure that has a negative ionic charge, making it unable to pass through the cell wall. This is why alum is safe to use and will not cause high levels of aluminium in your system. Alum and aluminium are two different substances, with distinct chemical signatures which possess different chemical properties and attributes. |
