WHY IT WORKS

This professional treatment mask uses a synergetic system of active enzymes and pure clays to exfoliate, decongest and draw out impurities.  At the same time it helps feed the skin with antioxidants and minerals.

How does it do this?

Exfoliation: Papaya and pineapple contain powerful enzymes respectively called papain and bromelain which dissolve the protein in dead skin cells to gently remove them. This leaves skin beautifully soft and smooth and encourages new fresh cell renewal.

Purification:  The mineral composition of the clay creates a specific polarity and this balance between negative and positive charges gives the clay absorbent and adsorbent binding properties. Absorption works like a sponge, explaining the clays ability to absorb excess oils and neutralize odours. It adsorption abilities allows it to attract and hold dead cells, fungi, viruses, bacteria, pollutants, smoke chemicals etc. very much like a magnet.

Nourishment:  The constriction properties of the green clay helps draw a fresh blood supply to the dermis layer of the skin to provide fresh nutrients.  In addition, he anti-inflammatory immortelle and antioxidant grape seed and green tea extracts and over 50 minerals present in the clays act to nourish the epidermis which does not contain a blood supply and has the ability, unique amongst our organs, to use the nutrients applied on to it.

Anti-ageing: exfoliation helps the skin to look fresher and more radiant and anti-inflammatories and antioxidants act synergistically to help protect the skin from the damaging ageing affects of inflammation and oxidation caused from stress, daylight, metabolism, pollution and smoke.  Grape seed extract is one of the best antioxidants for your skin, and contains proanthocyanidins, polyphenols, flavonoids, and anthocyanins to help reduce the sun’s damaging effects and reduce free-radical damage. Topical application of grape seed extract to a cultured human skin equivalent showed evidence of younger skin, including enhanced synthesis of healthy collagen, elastin, and improvement in other structural components of skin.  Green tea extract contains high levels of the antioxidants epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), total catechins and polyphenols.  Green tea acts on a wide range of free radicals known as reactive oxygen species (ROS) and research at the University of Georgia on topically applied green tea found that not only can it help eliminate free radicals and safeguard healthy cells while causing cancer cells to die, but that the EGCG in green tea can actually prolong and reactivate skin cells in the epidermis, a ‘fountain of youth’ for skin cells.  This can then lead to better skin repair and healing and may help conditions such as wrinkling and roseacea.

HOW TO USE

For best results:  use at least once a week and up to three times for blemished skin. Cleanse face first then use a heap teaspoon of mask powder and add Balancing Toner for a perfect skin-loving pH 5.3 (or alternatively use two teaspoons of water).  Mix until it is a spreadable paste consistency and apply to face and neck using either finger tips, a spatula or mask brush and avoiding eye area.  Leave for up to 10 minutes, no longer, and rinse off with warm water.  Apply toner/serum/moisturiser immediately afterwards.

Sally’s tips:  “To be quick I apply my mask as I’m getting ready to get in the shower, and rinse it all off at the end of my shower.  I find I use it regularly when I have every thing I need kept ready in the bathroom - the mask, my toner, teaspoon and spatula.  It really does improve the look of my skin.”

Works well with:  Balancing Toner, Anti-Ageing Skin Solutions and Blemished Skin Solutions.

Storage:  Replace lid immediately after use.  Store away from direct daylight - never store any natural skincare products on the window sill as it can seriously diminish nutritional content.  Keep out of reach of children.

Clay green

Green clay

Packed with minerals and active enzymes, green clay contracts and tones the skin, stimulates blood and lymph circulation and draws toxins from the skin.  The mineral composition creates a specific polarity which gives it excellent absorbent and adsorbent binding properties - it can attract and hold undesirable substances such as dead cells, fungi, viruses, bacteria and non-beneficial chemicals like a magnet.                                                                                                         Excellent for helping open pores, spots and tired complexions.
